Overlooking the harbour and the remains of the city walls of Palma de Mallorca towers the massive Gothic cathedral La Seu. Behind it stretches the picturesque old town with charming stores, narrow streets and tempting tapas bars.

The capital of Malta, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1980, boasts numerous sights: the Grand Master's Palace, St. John's Co-Cathedral, Fort St. Elmo and many other impressive buildings adorn the city. Europe's smallest capital was founded by the Grand Master of the Order of Malta, who also gave it its name: Jean de la Vallette.
