Im östlichen Teil des Emirats erstreckt sich die Ru’us Al Jibal-Gebirgskette, der dort beheimatete Jebel Jais ist mit 1.934 Metern der höchste Berg der VAE. Mangroven, Heimat einer vielfältigen Tierwelt, erstrecken sich weit bis in das Zentrum von Ras Al Khaimah. Und die terracottafarbene Wüste gehört zu den fruchtbarsten der Region.
