As a city of the Roman Empire, Trier experienced a period of cultural prosperity and served as the residence of several Roman emperors. In cultural terms, Trier could be described as an open-air museum of European architecture. Join us on a journey through time from ancient, Roman, Romanesque and Gothic times to the Renaissance, Baroque and Classicism. During a short city tour you will see evidence of Trier's Roman past, such as the Baths of Barbara and the amphitheater. The subsequent tour will take you past the Bishop's Palace, the Palace Garden and the Constantine Basilica and, of course, to the city's landmark - the 2,000-year-old monument of Roman architecture, the "Porta Nigra".

The city of Luxembourg is the capital and also the largest city of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. In 1994, the Old Town and the remains of the fortress were included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Experiencing this city means immersing yourself in its thousand-year history. Hardly any other European capital can boast such impressive contrasts as Luxembourg. In the course of its thousand-year history, the city developed from "Lucilinburhuc", the ancestral seat of Siegfried, the first Count of Luxembourg, to a prosperous metropolis. The place name Bernkastel goes back to "Princastellum", a Roman fort, which was built in the great river bend. The idyllic alleys between the Basilica of St. Kastor, the oldest church building in Koblenz, and the Church of Our Lady give Koblenz a special charm.
