This tour shows us „Baroque in Bloom“ as we visit Ludwigsburg Castle. It was built in the early 18th Century by Ludwig Eberhard and is one of Germany’s largest Baroque castles. It was known as the „Swabian Versailles“, and served as the residence of Württemberg Dukes and Kings. It is situated in a beautiful array of gardens, which form the oldest and loveliest Garden Exhibition in Germany. You have a chance to stroll and relax in the park and thereby experience a botanical round the world voyage.

Behind every door in Bernkastel you surely find a piece of history. There is firm evidence of the Roman era – such as the remains of the fort near the ruin of Landshut Castle. The walk introduces you to some of the legends and tales, which are still alive and frequently recounted by the local population. The subsequent panoramic drive towards Brauneberg opens wonderful views of the Moselle and its loops from above. During a visit to a Roman winepress you will learn interesting facts about the 2000-year-old wine culture landscape of the Moselle. In a selected winery on the Mittelmosel you will learn more about the wine-growing and can talk with the winemaker about steep-slope wines. At the end, you can convince yourself of the quality of local wines during a tasting.
