From Frankfurt am Main, the ship travels on the romantic Middle Rhine, past Loreley and then onto the Moselle. The cruise takes you to the wine region of Bernkastel, where you will be hosted by a Falstaff award-winning winegrower. The Roman city of Trier is famous for its Porta Nigra and also more recently for being an up-and-coming wine producer in the region. A visit to Luxembourg is also on the programme. In the evening, an award-winning winegrower will introduce you to his favourite crémant. nature lovers
will get their money’s worth in the Eifel and on a visit to the Geysers in Andernach. Selected Rheingau wines can be found on a visit to one of Falstaff's award-winning vineyards in the middle of Rüdesheim. The former Cistercian Monastery in Eberbach is not only renowned as the film location for the film “The Name of the Rose”, but is also known for its wine cellar, which you will find inspirational.

Auf diesem Rundgang bringt uns Vater Rhein die 2000 Jahre alte Geschichte Bingens, den Mäuseturm aus dem 14. Jahrhundert und das Rhein-Nahe-Eck näher. Vater Rhein persönlich empfängt uns vor dem Schiff, wo unser Rundgang zunächst entlang des Rhein Ufers bis zum Nahe-Rhein Zufluss führt. Dort sehen wir das Wahrzeichen Bingens: den sagenumwobenen Mäuseturm auf dessen Grund Vater Rhein der Sage nach, das Treiben des Binger Rheinufer seit je her beobachtet. Vater Rhein führt uns weiter in die beschauliche Altstadt Bingens und erzählt uns Wissenswertes über die Geschichte Bingens und über die wohl berühmteste Bewohnerin Hildegard von Bingen. Bingen repräsentiert das UNESCO-Welterbe Oberes Mittelrheintal und lädt mit seinen engen Gassen und schönen Fachwerkhäusern zum Flanieren ein bevor es zurück zum Schiff geht.

Get to know the picturesque little town on the banks of the Moselle on this special tour. A canon in historical costume will guide you through the abbey district of Karden's alleyways, lined with half-timbered houses , which belong to the tranquil double community of Treis-Karden. Listen to his stories and entertaining anecdotes about the Karden of former times. The region is characterised by viniculture and you should not miss out on a visit to the historic canons' wine cellar and distillery. You will learn many interesting facts about viniculture and the art of distillery. Naturally, wine tasting is included.

Bernkastel
Mooring 2:30 pm Wine experience excursion along the Moselle from Bernkastel with wine tasting

Behind every door in Bernkastel you surely find a piece of history. There is firm evidence of the Roman era – such as the remains of the fort near the ruin of Landshut Castle. The walk introduces you to some of the legends and tales, which are still alive and frequently recounted by the local population. The subsequent panoramic drive towards Brauneberg opens wonderful views of the Moselle and its loops from above. During a visit to a Roman winepress you will learn interesting facts about the 2000-year-old wine culture landscape of the Moselle. In a selected winery on the Mittelmosel you will learn more about the wine-growing and can talk with the winemaker about steep-slope wines. At the end, you can convince yourself of the quality of local wines during a tasting.

Koblenz is one of the oldest towns in Germany, looking back on 2.000 years of history. The guided walk will lead you through the Old town with its romantic streets, passing the Basilica St. Kastor and the Liebfrauen Church. You will also see the famous "Schängel"-Fountain in front of the town hall. A funicular will take you above the Rhine to the fortress Ehrenbreitstein. You will enjoy this special view over Koblenz.
