Important travel information

Entry requirements: German citizens need a valid ID card or passport for this cruise. You will not be able to join the cruise without valid identification documents. Health: You need to find out in good time from your family physician about your infection prevention and vaccine protection as well as prophylactic measures. Join us on our sightseeing tour in the traditional Danube metropolis Vienna. The bus will take you along the Uno-City and Danube Island. You will see impressive buildings such as the state opera, the Burgtheater, the Hofburg, Parliament, town hall and Votive Church along the famous Ring Road. During a guided walk, you will experience the special atmosphere of this charming city. After some time of leisure, the bus will take you back to the vessel.

You will visit the Kalemegdan Fortress which is also the most famous landmark of Belgrade. Enjoy a wonderful panoramic view over the confluence of Save and Danube as well as New-Belgrade. You can admire some artifacts of the Museum of Military History as you pass by. During a guided walk, you have the opportunity to explore the city center with its pedestrian zone and Republic square and experience the vibrant atmosphere of the Serbian capital. The following bus tour will take you past the palace, town hall and the Church of the Holy Sava, one of the biggest Orthodox churches in the world.

Enjoy a wonderful evening with Serbian folklore music and dance show and a short bus tour through the illuminated city. One of the best Serbian folklore ensembles presents you an entertaining show with music, dances and costumes from all parts of Serbia. Various influences, such as from Russia or Turkey, have shaped the Serbian folklore and made them so varied, colorful and spirited.

The 5th biggest city of Bulgaria with the largest free port of Danube, was called once Sexaginta Prista – “the city with the 60 ships”. The city tour starts in the historic city center, passing the train station on its way to the Pantheon, a Christian memorial honoring Bulgarian heroes. The houses represent an interesting mixture of Baroque, Renaissance and other epochs. You will also see the Alyosha monument, the concert hall and the Trinity Church. The latter will be visited before a little walk through the city center, sightseeing of the memorial of freedom, the opera house and court. A small folklore show will show you the Bulgarian traditions before you’ll get back to the ship.

Ruse
Panorama tour to Veliko Tarnovo and a trip to Arbanassi

This excursion will take you to Veliko Tarnovo, the former capital of Bulgaria. During medieval times, the political and cultural live was blossoming. For over 200 years it was also known among the European aristocracy as the third Rome and the second Constantinople. The city with its residential and craftsmen districts as well numerous churches, monasteries and terraces was built along the steep slopes of the hills of Zarewetz, Trapesitza and Momina Krepost. After a guided walk through the craftsmen alley there will be a short photo stop on Zarewetz Hill where the castle and with that also the domicile of the Bulgarian Czars was built. Afterwards you will visit Arbanassi, a small village embedded in the beautiful mountain landscape around Veliko Tarnovo. During a walk, you will experience the charming atmosphere of its picturesque alleys. The Bulgarian-Orthodox Church of Ascension of Christ is the most precious treasure of Arbanassi. Murals, Wooden carvings and numerous icons make a visit worthwhile.

Cernavoda

Constanta is also known as Tomis in the Greek Sagas. Your sightseeing tour will start at Ovid Square. Ovid was banned from Rome and spent his last years in Constanta. He has been honored by a statue on the former Greek market square. There you can also find the Historical museum as well as the largest preserved floor mosaic. On the way to the Romanian-Orthodox church you’ll passing the mosque. At the church you will learn more about the Romanian-Orthodox religion and about the excavation nearby before you continue the walk to the casino, which is located directly at the beach. Afterwards you can enjoy Romanian specialties. In your leisure time you can visit the old seaside resort Mamaia right at the Black Sea coast. Feel free to take a walk or swim in the sea before the bus will take you back to the vessel.

You will be amazed during your visit of Bucharest with its wide alleys and impressing buildings. It is called "Little Paris of the East" for a reason! Experience the special atmosphere of the city during a stroll through the old-town (Lipskan), where you have the opportunity to visit one of the oldest Romanian-Orthodox churches „Stavropoleus“ and learn more about the history of the religion. After a short fotostop at one of the biggest buildings of the world, the Palace of Parliament, you´ll go back to the vessel.

Vorbei an der Festung Peterwardein fahren Sie circa eine halbe Stunde durch die hügelige Landschaft von Fruska Gora (Heiliges Gebirge), einem Höhenzug von 80 km Länge und bis zu 20 km Breite. Die Heiligen Berge beherbergen 17 Klöster. Das bekannteste davon ist das Kloster Krusedol, welches mitten in einem Birkenwald gelegen ist. In diesem Kloster erhalten Sie detaillierte Erklärungen zur serbisch-orthodoxen Religion. Auf dem Rückweg bringt Sie der Bus zum Stadtzentrum, wo Sie aussteigen und während eines Spaziergangs die Altstadt erkunden, die wunderschön und sehr farbenfroh restauriert wurde.

Approx. a 1-hour bus ride from our pier in the area between Danube and Drava lies the Kopacki rit Nature Park, one of the largest and best-preserved wetlands in Europe. The canals and lakes, which are covered with reeds and whose surface is covered with white water lilies, are mostly surrounded by white willow trees. These give numerous freshwater fish (carp, pike, perch), reptiles (fire salamander, pond turtle) and bird species (cormorants, storks) a home. Probably the most famous inhabitant is Europe's largest eagle: the white-tailed eagle. Experience the untouched nature on a boat trip and if you are lucky, you will also see some of the wildlife there. Kindly note that we cannot guarantee that the animal world will show itself in all its splendor. Afterwards you will visit the nearby Rural House, where you will learn more about the area, its tradition and culture in an interesting and humorous presentation. Tasting local products such as Ajvar and slivovitz is included as much as finding out what lies behind the fearsome "Busho" mask before going back to the ship.

City stroll “Impressions of Budapest” and a ride on the oldest underground of the European continent. Time for your individual trip on shore.

Today you will experience Budapest up close and from a new point of view. While exploring the Hungarian capital by foot and metro, sights like the Parliament Buildings, St. Stephen's Basilica and the small squares and passages with beautiful statues and buildings from many different eras, will make this a day to remember. You will also have the opportunity to discover the hidden corners and the unique atmosphere of the city, away from the hustle and bustle as we guide you to the lesser known, but beautiful areas of the city. After taking a journey to the past on the oldest electrified underground railway system on the European continent, which is only possible in Budapest, you will hop in the metro and travel to the Unicum Museum while enjoying the beauty of the Danube river.At the Unicum Museum, a captivating guided tour awaits you, there you will learn about the Zwack family and how this legendary drink is made. Unicum has been produced in Budapest since 1892 and all the while the recipe has stayed a well-guarded secret. To top this excellent day off, you will enjoy a tasting, before heading back to the ship.

Close to the border to Austria and Hungary, Bratislava lies in the fertile Danube plain south of the Little Carpathians. First you will have a short bus tour that will take you up to the Fortress. You will be impressed by the wonderful panoramic view over the city. Learn more about the interesting history of the fortress which used to be the residence of numerous Hungarian kings in the past. Afterwards you will explore the beautifully restored Old Town with its baroque buildings such as the Redoute, National theater, the Town Hall and palaces which remind the visitors of their glorious past during k.u.k. monarchy. Among other things, you will also get to know probably the most famous man of Bratislava, Gullimann Cumil.
