Krems
Mooring 12:15 pm Casting off 6:15 pm A trip to the Benedictine Goettweig Abbey, followed by a visit of its apricot garden and tasting session Excursion Package

The city of Krems offers a variety of cultural, historical and culinary experiences. You will encounter its thousand years of history in the streets, squares, as well as the old churches and monasteries and other buildings. During a guided walk, you will explore the different sides of the city further. After a short bus ride you will arrive at Goettweig Abbey. Goettweig Abbey is located on a hill from where you will enjoy a beautiful panoramic view over the Danube river. In 2001 the Benedictine monastery was also added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage. The Imperial staircase with its impressive ceiling fresco is one of the most beautiful and biggest stairwells in Europe. Additionally, you will visit the beautiful apricot garden which is a perfect location for the tasting. After enjoying the incredible view of the Danube, we will return to the ship.

Esztergom

Esztergom, formerly known as Gran, was once the capital of Hungary. The first Hungarian king and founder of the Nation, Stephan I. was born here, according to a legend. The first royal residence is today the domicile of the bishop of Esztergom, head of the Catholic Church. It attracts numerous visitors because of its magnificent Cathedral. Don't miss a tour through this impressive Hungarian landmark.

Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and is also called the "queen of the Danube". During your city tour by bus and by foot you will see for example the castle district with the fisherman’s bastion and the Matthias Church. Afterwards there will be a short photo-stop on Gellerthill to enjoy a wonderful view over the city, before the visit of the traditional Café New York where you will taste some typical pastry.

Bratislava

Close to the border to Austria and Hungary, Bratislava lies in the fertile Danube plain south of the Little Carpathians. First you will have a short bus tour that will take you up to the Fortress. You will be impressed by the wonderful panoramic view over the city. Learn more about the interesting history of the fortress which used to be the residence of numerous Hungarian kings in the past. Afterwards you will explore the beautifully restored Old Town with its baroque buildings such as the Redoute, National theater, the Town Hall and palaces which remind the visitors of their glorious past during k.u.k. monarchy. Among other things, you will also get to know probably the most famous man of Bratislava, Gullimann Cumil.

Bratislava
Tour of the lights through Bratislava at night

A little city train will take you on a special trip. First stop is at the New Bridge where an elevator will take you 80m up to the panoramic restaurant Ufo. You will have a fantastic view over the city while enjoying a cocktail. Afterwards the little train will continue the ride up to the fortress, from where you will have another wonderful view over the illuminated city.

Vienna

Today, the traditional Danube metropolis Vienna is on the program. The bus will take you along the Uno-City and Danube Island. You will see impressive buildings such as the state opera, the Burgtheater, the Hofburg, Parliament, town hall and Votive Church along the famous Ring Road. During a guided walk, you will experience the special atmosphere of this charming city. During your visit of a typical coffeehouse you can also taste the famous Sachertorte, a special chocolate cake.

Vienna
Visit of Schönbrunn palace with its gardens

The magnificent Schoenbrunn Castle is definitely worth a visit. It is a masterpiece of baroque culture and art. You will have the chance to visit the castle and learn more about the former summer residence of the Habsburg dynasty. Join us on a guided tour through the luxurious staterooms of the Imperial family. This beautiful baroque castle is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage.

Ybbs
Mooring 8:00 am Casting off 1:00 pm Visit to Maria Taferl

A short bus ride away from the north bank of the Danube is the most important pilgrimage in Lower Austria: Maria Taferl. On a hill you can find the Maria Taferl Basilica, the Lower Austrian national sanctuary of the painful Mother of God. The sacred building was built around a shrine of the Virgin Mary. The name "Maria Taferl" is derived from this. According to tradition, there were already two miraculous healings in this place in 1633. In the following years, miracles and angelic apparitions were repeatedly reported in this place. You will visit the pilgrimage church and enjoy a panoramic view of the Niebelungen-gau. Back in Ybbs you will see the old ship's master's house, where today the art gallery "Atelier an der Donau" is housed. Marvel at paintings and sculptures by artists from all over the world. You are welcome to actuate the printing press yourself. The excursion concludes with a tour through the small streets of Ybbs old town, where you can still see the earlier wealth.
