Today we will take you to Bruges, a coach ride of only 30 minutes. Bruges has most of its medieval architecture intact, making it one of the most well-preserved medieval towns in Europe! After your relaxing coach ride, we will start with our walking tour through the historic centre of this beautiful town. We will pass by sights as the Belfry Tower, the 14th-century Town Hall and Our Lady Church. Excursion to the wine-growing region of Médoc with wine tasting.

Depart by bus to the Médoc vineyards and drive along the famous ‘Route des Châteaux’ including a photo stop at Château Lafite Rothschild or another well-known wine château. The Médoc wine road is located between the Gironde estuary and the Landes Forest. Few things whet a wine lover’s enthusiasm more than driving along “the route des châteaux” just north of Bordeaux on the Médoc peninsula. Eight of the most famous Bordeaux appellations can be found in on the peninsular: Moulis, Listrac, St. Julien, St. Estèphe, Pauillac, Médoc, Haut Médoc, and Margaux (with the renowned château of the same name). The highlight of your tour will be a private visit to a famous Medoc vineyard such as Château Loudenne, Castera, La Tour de by, Fonbadet, Pedesclaux, Lynch-Bages, Lagrange, Phelan Segur, Gruaud-Larose... among many others! You will be taught some of the techniques of winemaking. After a visit to the Château cellars, you will enjoy a tasting of two wines from the estate.

After an approx. 2 hours transfer, you will reach the beautiful City of Bordeaux. Labelled as a "City of Art and History" and listed as a "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO. You will first enjoy a panoramic guided city tour in the heart of the city, discovering its major monuments such as: the WWII German submarine base, Place de la Bourse, the River Front, the Cailhau Gate, the « Grosse cloche », the Cathedral of St André, the Gambetta square, the opera house “Grand Theatre” built by Victor Louis in 1773. Guests will have the possibility to visit “la Cité du Vin” a unique cultural centre dedicated to the universal, living heritage of wine. Your panoramic tour will conclude at the Tourny Allées. After a guided walking tour through Bordeaux Old Quarter, you will enjoy some free time for lunch, shopping, and/or exploring the city a bit more on your own. There is no better way to discover a destination up-close than on foot. This lovely tour allows you to not only experience the charming atmosphere of La Coruña but its lively Galician food culture as well.Your tour begins with a brief walk from the pier to the Maria Pita Square, named after the lady who defeated Sir Francis Drake, over here you will find the Town Hall, a spacious and elegant building in the Modernist style, ornate façade with three towers topped with domes. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to taste some of the local food and wine, before heading back to the ship.

Discover Guimarães, the former medieval capital of Portugal, rich in history and magnificent buildings, The historical centre in the area that was within the Guimarães city walls is associated with the formation and identity of Portugal. The city still has a harmonious, well-preserved heritage that is evident in the graceful iron verandas, granite balconies and porticos, mansions, arches connecting the narrow streets, paving slabs smoothed by time, towers and cloisters. For a moment, you might imagine yourself to be in a mediaeval setting, where the nobility built their houses over time, such as the Mota Prego house, the Vila Flor and Toural palaces, and the many others that give Guimarães its unique atmosphere. Considered a “must visit” city by The New York Times for 2012. Travel through time as you visit the 15th century Dukes Palace, which houses a museum and art gallery with portraits, tapestries, fine furniture and porcelain. Walk towards the town’s centre, UNESCO heritage, to discover its quiet corners, narrow streets, a former manor house and a 10th-century church situated in the main square. There will be free time to browse around and discover more about this marvellous town. On your way back to the coach, take a glimpse at the castle’s tower bearing the inscription: “Portugal was born here”.

Excursion to Porto with a trip on the Douro and port wine tasting. Excursion Package

Oporto, once a mercantile city connected to Port wine trade, stands quite variegated architecturally having medieval buildings standing side by side with modern ones. As you head to the city centre, you will pass by Foz, an exclusive and cosmopolitan waterfront district. Enjoy the view of the 18th-century Clerigos tower the highest point of the town at 245 feet. Continue past Aliados Avenue towards Ribeira, the city’s most characteristical district. Here you will board one of the traditional riverboats: “The Rabelo boat” (In the past, the boats sailing in Douro River were used to carry port wine barrels from the wineries to the cellars at Vila Nova de Gaia). As you cruise along the Douro passing beneath some of the many bridges, connecting the two parts of the city, you will admire beautiful views of the historic district with its narrow streets, houses and buildings that slope picturesquely down towards the riverbanks. Following the cruise, you will have the opportunity to visit one of the wine cellars that hold the world-famous Port wine, which you will be able to taste before returning to the ship.
